Construction Update: August 3-14
Hello Loveland! Here’s the latest update on construction from August 3-14, along with a look ahead at what’s coming next.
Construction Progress
- Phase 3 (Juniper Lane) is complete.
- Crews installed the new 8-inch PVC waterline and upgraded meter pits.
- Residents were moved from temporary water to the new line after disinfection and testing.
- Juniper Lane was paved Aug. 7 and reopened to through traffic Aug. 10.
- Phase 4 (sections Skyrock Road and Ponderosa Drive) is underway.
- Sections of Skyrock Road and Ponderosa Drive were milled Aug. 3 and are closed to through traffic.
- A temporary water system was built for Phase 4.
- Crews have focused on the section of Skyrock Road from Juniper Lane to the Ponderosa Drive intersection.
- Homes within the work zone were switched to temporary water, expected to remain in place through Aug. 25.
- Crews completed installation of the new 8-inch PVC waterline and parallel 4-inch waterline in this section.
Upcoming Work
- Skyrock Road (Juniper Lane to the Ponderosa Drive intersection)
- Disinfection and testing of the waterline will begin ahead of switching residents to permanent service next week.
- Meter pit replacements will continue.
- Milling and road base work start Aug. 24, with paving planned for Friday, Aug. 28.
- Ponderosa Drive
- Waterline installation will begin the week of Aug. 24, moving around the curve and north toward the pump station.
- Meter pit upgrades will occur as needed.
- Skyrock Road south of the intersection with Ponderosa Drive
- Crews will return to complete waterline improvements in this area after work on Ponderosa Drive is finished.
Traffic Control
- Residents on Ponderosa Drive and Ponderosa Place should use the northern entrance to Skyrock Road, Juniper Lane and Morning Drive to avoid construction.
- Sections of Skyrock Road and Ponderosa Drive remain closed to through traffic.
- Xcel Energy contractors continue replacing electric poles, which may cause occasional delays.
- Landscape work on Juniper Lane is active the week of Aug. 17.
