Construction Update: August 17-28
Hello Loveland! Here’s the latest update on construction from August 17-28, along with a look ahead at what’s coming next.
Construction Progress
Skyrock Road (Juniper Lane to the Ponderosa Drive intersection)
- Most meter pits in this section were replaced.
- Disinfection and testing of the new waterline completed and customers are now on permanent service.
- This section was paved last week.
Ponderosa Drive
- A section of Ponderosa, wrapping south and west from the Skyrock intersection, was milled for upcoming work.
- Installation of the 8-inch and 4-inch PVC waterlines began.
Skyrock Road (south of Ponderosa Drive)
- An additional section was milled in preparation for waterline installation.
Upcoming Work
Ponderosa Drive
- Crews will complete installation of the 8-inch and 4-inch waterlines up to the pump station.
- Meter pits will be replaced as needed.
- Disinfection and testing of thew new waterlines will begin, with customers switching to the permanent system next week.
- Milling and road base work will start Monday, Sept. 14, ahead of paving scheduled for Sept. 17-18.
Pump station
- Crews will tie in the new waterline into the pump station plumbing. Any customers affected by a water shutdown due to this work will be notified in advance.
Skyrock Road (south of Ponderosa Drive)
- Waterline installation will begin the week of Sept. 14. This is the final section of Phase 4.
Traffic Control
- Residents on Ponderosa Drive and Ponderosa Place should use the northern entrance to Skyrock Road, Juniper Lane and Morning Drive to avoid construction.
- Sections of Skyrock Road and Ponderosa Drive remain closed to through traffic.
- Xcel Energy contractors continue replacing electric poles, which may cause occasional delays.
