Weekly Project Update 8/25/25 - 8/29/25

Here are the project updates for the week (8/25-8/29):

  • The crew on 8th Street will be installing storm pipe, backfilling, testing, compacting, and placing recycled asphalt before continuing west.
  • The crew on 9th Street is at the manhole just west of Roosevelt Avenue installing storm pipe, backfilling, testing, compacting, and placing recycled asphalt before continuing west. Work began Thursday after installing the temporary water line and switching residents off the old main.
  • The concrete crew is installing curb and gutter at Roosevelt Avenue and 11th Street (Barnes Place); Harrison Avenue and Barnes Place; Grant Avenue; N. Franklin Avenue; and Colorado Avenue. Curb and gutter will be installed over the existing boxes of the abandoned Barnes Ditch, which no longer carries water. Old inlets are also being removed to prevent water from entering the ditch.
  • The paving crew paved the bottom lifts of the trench section on 8th Street this past week. They will complete the top lift after pipe installation down to Duffield Avenue is finished. This includes inlets, curb and gutter, and sidewalk.

Weather permitting, work activities are Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
