Project update 8/24-26 - 8/28/26

Hello Stakeholders,

Below are project updates from last week (ending August 21, 2026), as well as general updates for the current week as the project nears completion:

1. The pipe crew completed the final tie-in to the manhole at 11th Street. With this connection complete, the storm drainage system is now fully connected from the commercial properties near Eisenhower Boulevard and Colorado Avenue through 11th Street and south to 10th Street.
2. The paving crew completed paving on Colorado Avenue from the Little Barnes Ditch south to 10th Street. Crews also completed two asphalt patches on Franklin Avenue at the Little Barnes Ditch abandonment and a small asphalt repair near 775 N. Colorado Avenue and 8th Street.
3. The project trailer was removed from the site on Wednesday, 8/19, and the asphalt parking area used for project staging will also be milled and removed as part of site restoration.
4. The concrete crew completed work on the inlet along Colorado Avenue ahead of paving operations.
5. This week, the concrete crew will finish the top of the inlet and complete an extended section of curb, gutter, and sidewalk.
6. The pipe crew will complete final grading and shaping along the Little Barnes Ditch to ensure the area drains properly and does not retain standing water.
7. Final restoration will also include grading and reseeding of the former staging area, as well as seeding along the Little Barnes Ditch.
8. Connell Resources and Hoff Construction will complete the few remaining punch list items as the project moves toward final closeout.

With construction substantially complete and only a few remaining punch list and restoration items underway, the Garfield-Harrison Drainage Project is nearing final completion.

Weather permitting, work activities are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm.
