Project update 8/17/26 - 8/21/26
Hello Stakeholders,
The Garfield Harrison Storm Drain Project is substantially complete, with only a few remaining items being finalized. Below are project updates from this week as well as next (August 17th-21st):
- Despite design adjustments made earlier in the week, including changes to the pipe elevation and type and the addition of an inlet, the crew was able to make significant progress.
- Crews installed a bend section from the existing manhole at Colorado Avenue and 10th Street and continued working north. An additional manhole was installed where the pipe elevation changes.
- Two abandoned manholes and associated pipes, which were inspected earlier in the week by the City’s stormwater camera crew, were permanently filled and abandoned. Crews used concrete and flow fill to eliminate voids and help prevent future issues.
- Crews also installed a manhole and pipe connecting to the existing inlet and channel pipe along 11th Street west of Colorado Avenue within the Little Barnes Ditch.
- Crews will continue installing storm pipe, inlets and manholes along Colorado Avenue before turning west into the Little Barnes Ditch and continuing toward 11th Street.
- Paving is currently anticipated for later in the week of August 17th, potentially around August 20, weather and construction progress permitting.
Weather permitting, work activities are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm.
Thank you!
