Project update 8/10/26 - 8/14/26

Hello Stakeholders,

As the Garfield-Harrison Drainage Project nears completion, crews will be focusing on final restoration activities and one remaining storm drainage improvement. Below is a summary of upcoming work for the week of August 10-14, 2026:

  1. Survey crews have been on site preparing for the additional section of stormwater pipe that will extend from 11th Street through the Little Barnes Ditch to Colorado Avenue, then south to 10th Street to connect with the recently installed pipe and manhole.
  2. Work will continue to remove the project trailer and prepare the staging area for final stabilization and restoration.
  3. This week, crews will begin installing storm pipe from 10th Street north to the Little Barnes Ditch. Traffic will be temporarily detoured around the work area during construction.
  4. The initial detour will route traffic from Colorado Avenue and 11th Street to Franklin Avenue, then south to 9th Street. This detour is expected to remain in place for approximately one week before shifting to 10th Street.
  5. Tree trimming will also take place along the Little Barnes Ditch this week. Crews will also fill portions of the ditch as needed to provide access and allow the new storm pipe to be installed efficiently.

Weather permitting, work activities are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-5:00 pm.

Thank you for your patience!
