Project update 7/20/26 - 7/24/26
Hello Stakeholders,
The Garfield Harrison Storm Drain Project is substantially complete, with only a few remaining items currently being finalized. Over the next two weeks, construction activity will be limited as crews wrap up the final Phase 4 improvements. Below are project updates from this week, as well as general updates as the project nears completion:
- Crews completed removal of the project storage yard and graded the area in preparation for site restoration.
- Utility connections to the project trailer, including water and sanitary sewer service, have been disconnected as part of the project closeout.
- A Connell Resources crew completed backfilling behind the newly installed curb, gutter, and sidewalk along West 10th Street.
- Hoff Construction removed and replaced several damaged sections of concrete along West 10th Street.
- Hoff Construction is completing work on the inlet just east of Lynx Drive on West 10th Street and expects to finish early next week.
- Surveying and utility potholing along Colorado Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets are scheduled for early next week in preparation for the final storm pipe installation.
- Installation of the final pipe segment is anticipated to begin around August 10, 2026, and continue through August 28, 2026.
- This final phase of work will extend from the newly installed storm pipe at the intersection of Colorado Avenue and West 10th Street north to the Little Barnes Ditch crossing, then continue west and north within the Little Barnes Ditch easement to 11th Street, where it will connect to the existing storm pipe and inlet system. A full roadway closure is being requested to allow this work to be completed as efficiently as possible.
Weather permitting, work activities are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
