FOR RELEASE: First Street Wastewater Interceptor Project westbound closure
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
First Street Wastewater Interceptor Project westbound closure
LOVELAND, Colo. – February 13, 2026 – The City of Loveland will close westbound East First Street east of the Denver Avenue intersection beginning Monday, Feb. 16 to allow construction crews to begin surface preparation and demolition ahead of pipeline construction on First Street. Access will be maintained for local residents, businesses and emergency vehicles.
A posted detour will be in place during the closure. Westbound motorists traveling to First Street will be routed east on First Street, which becomes Corvus Drive and then East Fifth Street, to North Boyd Lake Avenue, then north to U.S. 34/East Eisenhower Boulevard, west to Denver Avenue and back south to First Street. Local access will remain for residents and businesses.

Beginning in late February, First Street is expected to be fully closed to eastbound and westbound traffic for approximately four weeks with local access maintained for residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles. Following the full closure, the eastbound lane will reopen to through traffic, with the westbound lane remaining closed through May 2026 as construction continues.
The project schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
