Construction Update April 4-10
Hello Loveland!
Here’s the latest update on construction along North Taft Avenue as stormwater improvements continue and the project moves toward completion of this phase.
Project Progress
- Significant progress was made this week at both 18th Street and 22nd Street.
- At 18th Street:
- Key connections to the new treatment system are complete.
- Shoreline stabilization within the lake has been finished.
- Guardrail installation is complete.
- Crews are preparing for new concrete features, including a cross pan, sidewalk, and ADA ramps.
- At 22nd Street:
- Installation of the large storm pipe crossing Taft Avenue is complete, marking a major milestone.
- Crews are continuing work on additional pipe connections and inlet structures.
- Underground improvements and diversion structures are progressing well.
- Concrete work between 22nd Street and 29th Street is nearly complete, with only minor sections remaining.
Look Ahead
- Continue concrete work at 18th Street and 22nd Street, including sidewalks, curb and gutter, and inlet structures.
- Install additional stormwater system components at 22nd Street.
- Add protective stabilization at outlet areas.
- Resume paving work on nearby side streets later in the week.
- Shift northbound traffic on Taft Avenue to the east side of the roadway.
- A mill and overlay paving operation is anticipated on North Taft Avenue in June.
- Some final rip rap work will be scheduled at a later date to align with more favorable conditions.
Working Hours
Weather permitting, crews work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional Saturday work.
