Construction Update: April 20-24
Hello Loveland!
Construction on North Taft Avenue is entering the final phase of the current water and stormwater improvement project. Crews are completing the remaining utility work, final paving, and cleanup before the corridor transitions to City roadway resurfacing work. Additional shoreline stormwater improvements are planned for winter 2027 when lake levels allow safe construction.
Project Progress
- Final drainage and erosion control work was completed at 18th Street, including rock lining around underground drainage channels.
- Rock armoring along the shoreline near Lake Loveland and Abarr Pond has been completed.
- Curb and gutter work at the 18th Street intersection with Taft Avenue is complete.
- New stormwater catch basins are being installed and set at 22nd Street.
- The final section of underground storm pipe across Taft Avenue at 22nd Street has been installed.
- Construction began on the east-side drainage channel at 22nd Street.
- All pipe lining work on the project is now complete.
Look Ahead
- Crews will finish concrete work at 22nd Street, including curbs, sidewalks, catch basins and drainage channels.
- Final paving will be completed at both 18th Street and the 22nd Street intersection.
- City roadway rehabilitation and resurfacing crews will begin work near 29th Street and work south. North Taft Avenue will remain closed during this work.
- The contractor is expected to complete final cleanup, roadway sweeping and remaining punch-list items before turning the corridor over to the City for full resurfacing.
