Weekly project update 9/28/26 - 10/4/26

Hello Stakeholders!

Here are the project updates for the week of 9/28/26 - 10/4/26:

• Block 5 (Garfield to Railroad Ave.)
  • Vehicle access will be limited to Garfield Ave. only.
• Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad crossing & 4^th Street
  • Access across the BNSF railroad tracks is fully closed to vehicles.
  • Pedestrian crossings at the tracks are shifting; please follow posted signage.
• Block 4 (Cleveland to Railroad Ave.)
  • Block remains closed to vehicle traffic; businesses are open to pedestrian access.
  • Lights, concrete work and concrete pavers.
• Blocks 1, 2, 3 and 5
  • Permanent sculptures will be installed, which may require the temporary closure of parking spots to accommodate equipment.
• Garfield Ave. (1^st to 7^th Street) (non-project related work)
  • Asphalt paving.
  • Expect on-street parking closures and lane shifts.
  • Permanent sculptures will be installed, which may require the temporary closure of parking spots to accommodate equipment.
• Sweetheart Alley (Lincoln to Cleveland Ave.) (non-project related work)
  • West half of alley closed from Cleveland to 225 E. 4^th Street for building demolition and asbestos remediation work.
• Painter’s Alley (non-project related work)
  • The east side of the alley will be closed.
  • Conduit trenching will begin behind 120 E 4th St, heading east, and continue through to 325 N Cleveland Ave.
  • A 5 × 5 ft vault will be installed approximately 20 feet west of 325 N Cleveland Ave.
  • New conduit installation will be performed by trenching from the 5’ × 5’ vault to the existing meter gear serving businesses on the east end of the alley.
