Closed Sidewalk on N. Franklin Avenue to W. 1st Street

Starting on Monday, April 11, 2022, the sidewalk along N. Franklin Ave. between W. 8th Street to W. 1st Street will be closed. For public safety, the section will remain closed through April and will reopen on May 1. Closing this section will prohibit access from N. Franklin Ave. to the 1st Street bridge over the Big Thompson and areas such as Rivers Edge Natural Area. Construction crews will be working on the new inlets, removing the old sidewalk, and will set the new sidewalk during this timeframe for the Garfield Harrison Storm Drainage Improvements Project.

Phase 1 of this project began late January 2022 and W. 1st Street will be closed through the fall of 2022. Travelers should be prepared for delays.
